Justice of the Peace

I have been a Justice of the Peace for the Town of Stamford and the State of Vermont for 15 years. As such, I serve on certain appeals committees, and I marry people. ( To resolve any ambiguity, I marry people to each other.)

In the footsteps of Al Capp's Marryin' Sam, I have created a schedule of fees. You will find it below.

The $1 Ceremony 1 to 3 minutes Long Less discount ($1)= $0

(This is the bare bones ceremony. Requires a quick "yes" or "no.")

The $5 Ceremony 10 to 15 Minutes Long (Depending on the presence of free drinks) Less discount ($5)= $0

(Usually includes an apology for never having met bride or groom until that day)

The $20 Ceremony 20 to 20 minutes long

(Often includes a few jokes and a recitation of appropriate poetry) Less discount ($20) = $0

The $50 Ceremony 2 to 3 hours long Less discount ($50) = $0

(Includes me in a tuxedo, my recitation of the first II books of Paradise Lost while juggling five Martini glasses (empty, or at least empty after the juggling). Accompaniment by Moonbeam MacSwine's Country Rock and Skunkworks Band. (See below.)
